One week prior, the company acquired the Chicago-based development house Retro64, founded by Mike Boeh, which is best known for their retro-arcade action and puzzle titles. PopCap began another round of expansion in July 2007 by buying other casual game developers including the creators of an online consumer portal, SpinTop Games. In early 2006, PopCap International was opened, based in Dublin, Ireland, working on product localization, mobile games development, marketing, sales and business development. The Sprout team helped PopCap to make a sequel to the game, Feeding Frenzy 2: Shipwreck Showdown, with Gwertzman becoming the Director of Business Development at PopCap. Sprout Games is the creator of the game Feeding Frenzy. The company expanded in 2005 with the acquisition of Sprout Games, a Seattle-based casual games developer company like PopCap Games, founded by James Gwertzman.
Their first game as PopCap was Bejeweled, a gem-swapping game, which was supported on all major platforms and awarded by Computer Gaming World Hall Of Fame in 2002.
I hope to get an update out shortly with more levels and more optimization.Įdit : Can you please contact me at so I can assist you further.James Gwertzman representing PopCap Games at the 2007 Montreal International Games Summit Some devices have trouble with the ads showing while playing, and removing them (I realize you may not wish to pay to do so) may fix the performance issue. I'm looking into the performance right now. Please try it and let me know if you continue to have issues. I'm continuing to try and increase the performance of the game, and have released 2.3.41 which will stop the ad if your device is struggling with it.
I also wanted to point out that I wasn't implying that you SHOULD pay to remove the ads, but simply as a current solution that would likely work since I believe ads are currently responsible for the issues you are having. If you contact me at I can perhaps help much quicker. VERY FRUSTRATING.Įdit2 : I will definitely look into this more. I thought with your latest update the problem would be fixed. I enjoy playing the game however, the higher levels I play the more the game keeps freezing. I’m deleting your game and I’m sure a lot of other people will be doing the same. No other game I have on my phone does this. I really enjoyed your game, but not anymore. I, nor anyone else, shouldn’t be forced into buying anything to play any game if they don’t choose to. You mentioned in a response to me before that by purchasing the OPTION to buy the removal of Ads will ensure smooth playing of your game. It took me nearly ten minutes to play your game because it kept freezing due to Ads. * Lots of replay value as you see your ranking against all other players globally * Bonus level for each world when you collect all the gems * More than 560+ Levels and 27 colorful worlds * Fast action with the timer or relaxed mode without it Word Wow will sharpen your brain as well as your reflexes. Try and make enough points each level to earn all three stars. The bigger the words that you can make the more points you'll earn. As the worm moves down the board, more letters become available.Įach level has at least 1 hidden gem, and if you can find all the gems in all the levels of a world, a bonus level is opened where you can really rack up the points! You have a limited number of bombs, but you can earn more as you make more words. If you find the worm to be stuck and you can't come up with any words, you can use a bomb to clear some of the tiles. You need to be able to make words quickly (although a no-timer mode is available) to string together bonuses, as well as just to clear the path. As you dig down, the worm will follow until you can guide him to the bottom before time runs out. Word Wow is a word game where you make words to dig deeper into the ground. ***** (5/5) "Word Wow is an explosion of thought-provoking, perplexing, and thrilling fun for almost all ages." - AppAdvice
